Türkiye is gearing up to host its first-ever edition of GITEX Ai Türkiye, set to take place from 9–10 September 2026 at the Istanbul Expo Centre.
The event will be organized in partnership with the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye (Invest in Türkiye) and the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, alongside KAOUN International, the global organizer of the GITEX brand.
This milestone marks Türkiye’s official entry into the world’s most extensive technology and artificial intelligence event network — a move that positions Istanbul as the digital capital of Eurasia and a new hub for AI-driven innovation and investment.
A Partnership Forging Türkiye’s AI Future
The partnership was officially signed by Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International and Executive Vice President of DWTC; Gökhan Yücel, Senior Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Invest in Türkiye; and Sadullah Uzun, Director General of National Technology at the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
Together, they announced a joint vision to turn GITEX Ai Türkiye into Eurasia’s most global platform for accelerating AI adoption, investment, and collaboration. The event will feature immersive showcases across sectors including AI, Cybersecurity, Fintech, Cloud, Gaming, and Connectivity, uniting innovators, startups, investors, and policymakers from around the world.
Türkiye: Where Capital Meets Code
Speaking on the launch, Gökhan Yücel emphasized Türkiye’s strategic ambition to become the epicenter of the global AI movement, stating:
“GITEX Ai Türkiye is where capital meets code — accelerating homegrown AI models and strengthening Türkiye’s digital infrastructure. With over 1,059 active AI startups, 1,300 R&D and design centers, and around 12,000 companies operating in 106 Technology Development Zones, Türkiye has built a powerful foundation for scalable innovation.”
He further noted that high and medium-high-tech exports now exceed USD 100 billion, while quality foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in 2024 alone brought USD 10 billion in capital commitments, reflecting the growing confidence of global investors in Türkiye’s innovation economy.
National Technology Vision: Empowering Innovation and Global Collaboration
Sadullah Uzun, Director General of National Technology at the Ministry of Industry and Technology, highlighted Türkiye’s role as a convergence point for ideas and innovation, saying:
“GITEX Ai Türkiye 2026 underscores our growing role in the global AI and technology landscape. Through initiatives such as Türkiye TechVisa, which attracts global tech talent, and Turcorn 100, which supports promising startups to scale internationally, we are building a future where Türkiye plays an active role in shaping global AI progress.”
He emphasized that the National Technology Initiative is committed to fostering international cooperation and creating practical, scalable solutions that contribute to both economic growth and technological advancement.
A Strategic Bridge Between East and West
Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International and EVP of DWTC, described Türkiye as the bridge where East meets West, commenting:
“Türkiye is a place where cultures, ideas, and opportunities converge. By bringing the world’s largest and most connected network of AI and tech investors to Türkiye, we’re transforming the country into the next cross-border corridor of AI excellence. Our mission is to position Türkiye and Eurasia as a powerful force influencing the world’s AI future.”
Accelerating Türkiye’s Rise as a Global AI Powerhouse
With major national investments already flowing into technology infrastructure, GITEX Ai Türkiye 2026 aims to elevate the country’s AI ecosystem through global collaboration and partnerships.
Eurasia’s geographic position offers a unique advantage — combining European research expertise, Asian scalability, and a rapidly expanding startup ecosystem.
Sectors such as Machine Learning, GovTech, Fintech, Cybersecurity, and Industry 4.0 are witnessing unprecedented growth, positioning Türkiye as a rising digital powerhouse.
AI Adoption: A Billion-Dollar Opportunity
According to projections, AI integration across Türkiye’s public services could generate up to USD 4 billion in annual savings, while contributing nearly 1% to the national GDP — translating into billions of dollars in added economic value.
Over the past decade, Türkiye’s innovation landscape has evolved rapidly, creating a strong platform for next-generation technologies and sustainable digital transformation.
Empowering Türkiye’s Digital Future
By joining the GITEX global ecosystem, Türkiye is not only hosting an event — it’s cementing its position as a central player in the future of AI and digital R&D.
GITEX Ai Türkiye 2026 will be the catalyst that connects talent, technology, and investment, transforming Türkiye into a leading innovation hub bridging East and West.
