MIA, a pivotal initiative by the Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), plays a vital role in fostering the growth of the country’s tech ecosystem and propelling forward-thinking solutions onto the global stage. The mission of MIA is to recognize and celebrate innovators who are reshaping their industries and creating groundbreaking solutions across categories such as Best Product Innovation, Best Service Innovation, Impactful Initiative of the Year, and Rising STARtup.

The event reached its crescendo with an engaging online Pitch Battle, where the 12 finalists captivated a distinguished jury panel comprising global tech sector experts. This intense competition marked a significant milestone in Moldova’s tech calendar, attracting a diverse audience from both Moldova and around the world. The jury, consisting of national and international tech sector representatives, faced the arduous task of selecting the winners.

During the awards ceremony, Dumitru Ciorici, co-founder of Fagura and recipient of the Impactful Initiative of the Year, made an exciting announcement: “I am pleased to announce that we have just signed a contract with Future Technologies Activity. Through our platform, we will provide one million dollars of funding over the next two years to support small and medium-sized enterprises in Moldova and technological startups, fostering innovation and digitalization.”

Following the Pitch Battle, the Awards Gala took place, where the winners were announced and duly celebrated for their excellence in innovation. This landmark event firmly established Moldova’s position as an emerging star in the global tech arena, with MIA playing a pivotal role in driving this trajectory.

Ion Sturza, President of Fribourg Capital, Romania, remarked, “Evaluating 41 companies from different industries was a challenging and demanding task. We dedicated not only hours but entire days to debating the results, and in the end, I believe we executed an exceptional job.”
