- Health Assurance Hospitals Company (DHAMAN) Achieves HIMSS O-EMRAM Stage 6 Validation within a Year of InterSystems TrakCare Implementation
Validation provides measurable demonstration of DHAMAN’s ongoing commitment to improving patient safety and the overall quality of clinical care
Health Assurance Hospitals Company (DHAMAN), the first Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) healthcare
organization in the Middle East, and InterSystems, a creative data technology provider dedicated to
helping customers solve the most critical scalability, interoperability, and speed problems, announced
today that DHAMAN has achieved the HIMSS O-EMRAM Stage 6 validation, an international benchmark
for the use of advanced IT to improve outpatient care, using InterSystems TrakCare® unified healthcare
information system.
HIMSS Analytics created the EMRAM methodology to evaluate the progress and impact of electronic
medical record systems for hospitals. The validation measures clinical outcomes, patient engagement
and the clinicians’ use of the EMR technology to strengthen organizational performance and health outcomes.
By being validated at Stage 6, DHAMAN is clearly demonstrating its ongoing commitment to improving
patient safety and the overall quality of clinical care through the effective use and deployment of
Electronic Medical Record technology.
This important milestone is in line with DHAMAN’s pursuit of achieving one of Kuwait’s National
Development Plan pillars (New Kuwait 2035), which aims at providing the highest quality of healthcare.
Reflecting on the visit, The HIMSS surveyors commended DHAMAN’s team on the following areas:
- The focus on “Patient Engagement”
- Physician and nursing documentation
- The patient’s consent being captured electronically to avoid paper documents
- The creation of a health academy as a response to the challenge of nursing resources during the pandemic
- The excellent culture of interaction between senior management and staff, resulting in these very good results within a year’s time of InterSystems TrakCare implementation
- With the use of TrakCare, DHAMAN benefits from the electronic medical record (EMR) system’s ability to
connect its facilities and provide seamless service across its various establishments.
TrakCare with its unified clinical and revenue cycle management capabilities enables DHAMAN’s staff to
view the patient clinical, administrative, and financial information at any time, allowing ease of access to
streamline the patient experience and hospital operations.
TrakCare also helps DHAMAN to achieve its goal of being the prime provider of quality integrated healthcare services in Kuwait.
Corporate Director – Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah Al-Najjar said “DHAMAN has taken proactive
steps towards activating electronic and information systems in its endeavor to build and sustain a digital
healthcare operation that addresses and foresees the future trends of the healthcare industry.
DHAMAN’s system is in compliance with the standards of the Healthcare Information and Management
Systems Society (HIMSS) relevant to the application of digital healthcare industry. These are
international standards in the field of information technology to meet the needs of health enterprises
and our goal is to achieve HIMSS EMRAM highest stage, Stage 7”.
DHAMAN is creating an integrated healthcare network that incorporates medical assurance programs
and a network of primary healthcare centers and hospitals covering all of Kuwait and is committed to
employing the best professional practices to ensure healthcare sustainability and investing in the health
sector’s infrastructure following international standards.
“It gives me a great pleasure to congratulate DHAMAN on achieving the HIMSS O-EMRAM Stage 6
