Digital Dubai has launched the pilot phase of the Government Resources Planning Systems (GRP) 2.0 project for government entities listed under the GRP Systems umbrella, with an objective to enhance government integration, increase efficiency and productivity, and leverage advanced technologies to meet future needs.

The GRP Systems cover financial affairs, human resources, payroll, procurement, contracts, and asset management. With the GRP 2.0 project, Digital Dubai seeks to strengthen the emirate’s competitiveness, advance its position as a global leader in digital transformation, and achieve greater positive economic impact by utilizing GRP as a shared system within the Dubai Government. The initiative also aims to enhance planning and decision-making, in addition to providing a seamless experience for employees and stakeholders.

Digital Dubai launched the GRP 2.0 pilot phase in the presence of executive directors from corporate support sectors, department heads, and representatives of government entities in areas such as human resources, finance, procurement, and contracts.

During the event, Digital Dubai highlighted the mechanisms used to develop and upgrade these systems, in line with Dubai’s status as a world leader in establishing seamless and comprehensive digital systems for government services. The project leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies in the rapidly evolving global digital landscape, which offer modern digital enablers and facilitate setting an effective and integrated vision for government operations.

Speaking at the launch event, His Excellency Matar Al Hemeiri, Chief Executive, Digital Dubai Government Establishment – part of Digital Dubai, said: “The Government Resources Planning Systems embody Dubai’s ambitious vision to digitalize all aspects of life, by establishing a robust digital environment that enables the creation of a digitalized, knowledge-based society. The GRP 2.0 project will boost efficiency and productivity, enhance data quality and governance, and set the stage for implementing best practices and establishing modern frameworks. It will also increase customer satisfaction among Digital Dubai’s partners in the system.”

“The second generation of the Government Resources Planning Systems, GRP 2.0, goes beyond being a mere technical update,” H.E. added. “It constitutes a major leap forward in our processes and a new approach to comprehensive governance, human resources management, financial systems, and procurement operations, among other tasks. These systems offer higher capabilities and features for government resource management, leveraging advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in a secure, high-performance operational environment that offers a seamless and user-friendly experience, enhancing efficiency and productivity in government work.”

H.E. Al Hemeiri praised the positive response from government entities to this development, emphasizing that this level of progress guarantees the success of this national project, and allows it to achieve its objectives and cement Dubai’s position as a leader in digital transformation. “Since their launch, the Government Resources Planning Systems have enhanced Dubai’s competitiveness among the world’s leading cities in digital transformation,” H.E. noted. “The Systems started with just three government entities, gradually expanding to include 70 entities today. The GRP Systems consist of more than 40 systems and cater to over 80,000 users.”

The project underscores the importance of collaboration and joint efforts among government entities to support and enhance system efficiency, promote comprehensive digital transformation, and empower all government entities. It ensures that Government Resource Planning Systems remain open to new and emerging technologies, which is a fundamental pillar of Digital Dubai’s strategy and its action plan for the present and future.
