Al-Futtaim Engineering & Technologies awarded 5 stars by Taqdeer for Labour Welfare
Al-Futtaim Engineering & Technologies (AFET), the region’s leading engineering and technology company, has been awarded for its exceptional contributions to labour welfare and productivity among their blue-collar workers by Taqdeer. This is a Dubai Government Initiative created to recognize and reward excellence in labour relations, as well as strengthen the Emirate of Dubai’s position as home to the most progressive employers in the Middle East. The Taqdeer Award for Labour Welfare is a strategic Government initiative launched under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council.
Attainment of this award highlights AFET’s efforts to achieve worker welfare excellence while creating and maintaining world-class working conditions. The award was received by Murali S., the Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Engineering & Technologies. Additionally, certificates and cash prizes were awarded to Mohammad Nemer for the category of Best MEP Engineer, Syed Naeem Hussain for the category of Best Elevator Supervisor and Chidananda Baremelu for the category of Best Facilities Management Technician.

With the support of AFET’s Health & Safety team and Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate’s Human Resources department, relevant information was provided to Taqdeer Award Committee Members determining AFET’s win for the 5-star rating. It pertained the best employment practices and safe working environment at Al-Futtaim Engineering & Technologies and included information and case studies of the company’s best employment practices. The company’s comprehensive use of global benchmarks in labour policies and occupational health was also submitted including cultural and work environment factors such as communication, creativity and innovation, rules and regulations; as well as results based on labour perceptions and performance indicators.
