![Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched the Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre (arbitrateAD), an international arbitration centre based in Abu Dhabi. From 1 February 2024, the governance structure and arbitration rules of arbitrateAD will replace those of the Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre (ADCCAC). arbitrateAD supports efforts to establish Abu Dhabi as a regional and global hub for efficient and expeditious dispute resolution, upholding the principles of impartiality, independence, transparency and efficiency. arbitrateAD’s dispute resolution services supports Abu Dhabi’s growth as an ideal environment for businesses to thrive and cross-border relations to flourish. [KCW1] His Excellency Abdulla Mohamed Al Mazrui, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will serve as arbitrateAD’s Chairman of the Board. Gary Born, who chairs the international arbitration practice group at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, will serve as Vice Chairman. The Board of Directors will supervise the implementation of arbitrateAD’s general policy and strategic plans required for the achievement of its objectives. Maria Chedid, global co-chair of Arnold & Porter’s international arbitration practice group, has been appointed as the President of the Court of Arbitration. The court’s mandate for the cases administered by arbitrateAD will be independent from the board. Kristin Campbell-Wilson, former Secretary General of the SCC Arbitration Institute, has been appointed Executive Director of arbitrateAD, and will be responsible for arbitrateAD’s operations. قال سعادة عبدالله محمد المزروعي، رئيس مجلس إدارة غرفة أبوظبي، رئيس مجلس إدارة مركز أبوظبي الدولي للتحكيم:

ويسعدني أن أشهد إطلاق مركز أبوظبي الدولي للتحكيم الذي يتوِّج الجهود المبذولة لتعزيز عملية التحكيم؛
فالمركز يلبّي أفضل معايير التميُّز ويدعم أعلى مستويات النزاهة، ويوفِّر حلولاً محايدة لجميع المنازعات، ويجمع المركز عدداً من أشهر خبراء التحكيم التجاري في العالم.”
جاء ذلك بإطلاق غرفة تجارة وصناعة أبوظبي «مركز أبوظبي الدولي للتحكيم” (ArbitrateAD)،
ليعمل وفق هيكلية إدارية جديدة وقوانين تحكيم متطوِّرة، ويحلَّ محلَّ مركز أبوظبي للتوفيق والتحكيم التجاري التابع للغرفة، بدءاً من 1 فبراير 2024.
ويسهم «مركز أبوظبي الدولي للتحكيم» في ترسيخ مكانة أبوظبي وجهةً إقليميةً وعالميةً لتسوية المنازعات التجارية وفق معايير الحيادية والاستقلالية والشفافية مع تقديم الخدمات اللازمة لهذه التسويات،
ما يرسِّخ جاذبية أبوظبي لازدهار الأعمال والشراكات العابرة للحدود.
ووفق الهيكل الإداري الجديد، يشغل سعادة عبد الله محمد المزروعي، رئيس مجلس إدارة غرفة تجارة وصناعة أبوظبي،
منصب رئيس مجلس إدارة مركز أبوظبي الدولي للتحكيم، ويتولى غاري بورن، رئيس مجموعة ممارسة التحكيم الدولي في شركة «ويلمر كاتلر بيكرينغ هال ودور»،
منصب نائب رئيس مجلس الإدارة في المركز.
ويتولى مجلس الإدارة مهام الإشراف على عمليات تنفيذ السياسات العامة والخطط الإستراتيجية اللازمة لتحقيق أهداف المركز.
وتتولى ماريا شديد، الرئيس المشارك العالمي لمجموعة ممارسة التحكيم الدولي التابعة لشركة أرنولد آند بورتر،
منصب رئيس محكمة التحكيم في المركز، علماً بأنَّ إدارة القضايا والقرارات مستقلة عن مجلس إدارة المركز.
وتشغل كريستين كامبل ويلسون، الأمين العام السابق لمعهد التحكيم إس.سي.سي (معهد التحكيم التابع لغرفة تجارة ستوكهولم) منصب المدير التنفيذي لمركز أبوظبي الدولي للتحكيم.
وقال سعادة أحمد خليفة القبيسي، المدير العام لغرفة أبوظبي: “نفخر بالإطلاق الرسمي لمركز أبوظبي الدولي للتحكيم في بداية التحكيم التجاري للشركات،
سواءً في إمارة أبوظبي أو الممتدة على مستوى العالم.
وندرك أهمية الارتقاء بالبيئة المتطوِّرة والعادلة والمتوازنة لتسوية المنازعات، ما يسهم في توفير بيئة مثالية تمتاز بالمرونة لممارسة الأعمال التجارية في أبوظبي.
وينسجم إطلاق المركز الجديد مع رؤيتنا الطموحة والتوجُّهات الاقتصادية للقيادة الرشيدة لإمارة أبوظبي،
التي تهدف إلى تمكين شركات القطاع الخاص من إطلاق طاقاتها الكامنة بالكامل.”
وقال غاري بورن: “نثق بأنَّ الحيادية والشفافية والاستقلالية في تسوية النزاعات بين الشركات تُسهم في تأسيس منظومة تجارية مستدامة وبيئة أعمال مزدهرة،
وينسجم إطلاق المركز مع التزامنا برسم ملامح مستقبل تسوية النزاعات، وحرصنا على الدمج بين الخبرات والعمل المتفاني لتقديم الخدمات على مستوى عالمي.”
وقالت ماريا شديد: “يشرفني أن أتولى منصب أول رئيس لمحكمة التحكيم،
علماً بأنَّ المركز سيشكِّل علامة فارقة لإمارة أبوظبي والمنطقة، ويؤكِّد التزام الإمارة بالتميُّز والعدالة والكفاءة في تسوية النزاعات.
وسيسهم المركز في تلبية احتياجات وتطلُّعات الشركات بشأن حل النزاعات بشكل آمن عبر مختلف المجالات التجارية الإقليمية والدولية.
وأتطلَّع إلى تعزيز رحلة التقدُّم والازهار للمركز، والإسهام في توفير بيئة موثوقة لتسوية النزاعات بنزاهة ودقة.”
وقالت كريستين كامبل ويلسون: “يسرُّنا إطلاق المركز الذي سيحرص على تقديم خدمات فعّالة لتسوية المنازعات خلال وقت قياسي وفق أعلى مستويات الكفاءة.
نسعى إلى جعل مركز أبوظبي الدولي للتحكيم منصة رائدةً في التحكيم على مستوى المنطقة،
بالجمع بين خبراتنا وشبكتنا العالمية المكوَّنة من خبراء التحكيم والمحايدين والمختصين في إدارة العمليات بشكل فعّال.

يُشار إلى أنَّ مركز أبوظبي للتوفيق والتحكيم التجاري سيستمر في إدارة القضايا الجارية حتى تسويتها،
أمّا القضايا الجديدة فسيديرها مركز أبوظبي الدولي للتحكيم تبعاً للقواعد التحكيمية الجديدة، بدءاً من 1 فبراير2024.
