Qatar Investment Authority QIA and global asset manager Franklin Templeton have officially launched the Franklin Templeton Qatar Equity Fund, a strategic initiative designed to bolster Qatar’s equity market and support the country’s economic development.
QIA Strengthens Active Asset Management Initiative
The launch underscores QIA’s ongoing commitment to fostering local economic growth, enhancing market liquidity, and accelerating development within Qatar’s asset management industry. This partnership marks the third collaboration under QIA’s Active Asset Management Initiative. As the fund’s anchor investor, QIA is contributing capital in both cash and stock, reflecting its long-term commitment to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and the broader financial ecosystem.
Fund Structure and Investment Objectives
With an initial size of USD 200 million, the fund is structured as a daily-dealing mutual fund, offering both local and international institutional investors the opportunity to access returns from equities listed on the QSE. The fund aims to provide actively managed exposure to Qatar’s stock market, leveraging Franklin Templeton’s extensive global expertise and local market insights.

Franklin Templeton, one of the world’s largest independent asset managers with USD 1.68 trillion in assets under management as of December 31, 2025, brings decades of investment experience to this collaboration. Through the partnership, the firm will deploy on-the-ground portfolio managers and dedicated research teams to optimize fund performance and contribute to Qatar’s capital market development.
