Huawei concluded its participation in the first edition of MWC25 Doha by presenting a comprehensive vision of how 5G-Advanced and artificial intelligence are reshaping digital ecosystems across the Middle East. The two-day event at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center gathered government officials, operators, and global industry experts to explore the next wave of intelligent connectivity.

Keynote Highlights: 5G-A and AI Redefining Global Industry

In his keynote speech titled Empowering Middle Eastern Digital Visions with 5G-A x AI, Richard Liu, President of ICT Marketing and Solution Sales at Huawei, highlighted the rapid global momentum of 5G-Advanced.

Liu noted that within a year of commercial deployment, 5G-A has enabled more than 60,000 enterprise private networks and is projected to generate over USD 2.8 trillion in economic value by 2025. He emphasized that Middle Eastern operators are early leaders in adopting this new connectivity standard, supported by AI integration that has boosted network energy efficiency by up to 40%.

He added that the region has already implemented more than ten intelligent application scenarios, demonstrating how the convergence of 5G-A and AI is transforming industries through:

  • New business models driven by tiered services and scenario-based offerings
  • Intelligent service delivery where AI agents manage 80% of daily interactions
  • Infrastructure upgrades, including all-optical networks with 10GE access and 40% automation in operations and maintenance

Middle East Leads 5G-A Global Adoption

At the 5G Future Summit, Allen Tang, President of ICT Marketing and Solution Sales for Huawei Middle East and Central Asia, underscored the region’s leadership in the global 5G-A rollout.

Tang stated that more than 25 commercial 5G-Advanced networks have been launched worldwide, with the Middle East alone surpassing one million users. This momentum reflects a shift among operators from traditional telecom providers to full-fledged technology companies, driven by diversified business models that have increased ARPU by up to 20%.

He highlighted strong regional foundations for next-generation services, noting that:

  • 75% of smartphones in GCC markets already support SA networking
  • 36% of devices include AI capabilities
  • SA coverage has improved by 20%
  • Uplink speeds have increased by 50%, enabling emerging sectors such as drone delivery and flying taxis

Huawei’s “3A Infrastructure” blueprint (5G-A, Always-Online, AI-Driven) aims to elevate operational efficiency to real-time responsiveness, supported by multi-band Meta solutions, Sub-1GHz technologies, and intelligent BSS platforms that deliver 10Gbps-level user experiences.

Strategic Partnerships Strengthen Qatar’s Digital Ambitions

During MWC25 Doha, Huawei and MEEZA signed two strategic Memoranda of Understanding aimed at accelerating Qatar’s national goals in digital infrastructure, AI innovation, and talent development.

The agreements include strengthening collaboration in private digital infrastructure, expanding AI services, and launching a National Training Program to build advanced technology skills within the local workforce. These initiatives support Qatar’s long-term vision for economic diversification and digital leadership.

Huawei Demonstrates Intelligent Industry Solutions

Throughout the exhibition, Huawei highlighted how the convergence of 5G-A and AI is creating new opportunities across sectors including public services, transportation, utilities, finance, and energy. Visitors explored AI-powered solutions, cloud innovations, and digital-energy technologies designed to enhance productivity and support low-carbon, sustainable digital ecosystems.

Huawei reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Qatar’s ICT environment, building on more than two decades of collaboration that has supported the nation’s digital transformation and its transition toward a knowledge-driven economy.

The event closed with the message Innovation Never Stops, reaffirming the Middle East’s role as a global leader in next-generation connectivity and AI-enabled transformation.
