GITEX Vietnam to Launch in 2026, Tapping into $200 Billion Digital Economy Potential
GITEX, the world’s largest and top-rated tech event series, is making its debut in Vietnam, marking a pivotal moment for the country’s fast-growing digital economy. Announced during GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything in Singapore, the inaugural GITEX VIETNAM will take place in Hanoi on October 1–2, 2026. The launch is a major milestone in Vietnam’s National Innovation Week and is expected to accelerate the country’s ambition to build a US$200 billion digital economy by 2030.
Strategic Partnership Sets Stage for Global Connectivity
Organized by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International, in partnership with the Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC), this expansion is facilitated by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI). The collaboration aims to open up access to global markets, capital, talent, and business relationships through the GITEX platform.
This move aligns with a broader agenda to strengthen UAE–Vietnam economic relations, as seen in the recent declaration of intent to initiate a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
A Landmark Move for Southeast Asia’s Emerging Tech Scene
GITEX VIETNAM is positioned to be a transformative force, spotlighting Vietnam’s innovation potential while connecting global tech ecosystems. The show promises to attract global tech giants, investors, policymakers, and startups, all converging to explore key trends in AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, DevOps, Industry 5.0, and more.
“This event marks a watershed moment in Vietnam’s digital transformation,” said Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International. “It will amplify Vietnam’s progress, infrastructure, and ambitions, bringing the region’s energy and potential into the global spotlight.”
Vietnam’s Rise as a Regional Innovation and Supply Chain Hub
Vietnam continues to climb the ranks as a Southeast Asian tech powerhouse. It currently holds the #2 spot in global smartphone exports and ranks fifth in computer exports. The semiconductor sector alone exceeded US$18 billion in 2024, while manufacturing and construction employ over 17 million people and represent one-third of national employment, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
The country’s digital roadmap outlines strategic goals to become a regional hub in IT, cybersecurity, AI, high-speed infrastructure, and green data centers by 2030.
GITEX VIETNAM: The Next Hub for Startups, Investors, and Innovation
Vietnam’s dynamic tech scene is attracting increased interest from investors and innovators. GITEX VIETNAM will serve as a premier platform to drive international co-investment, collaboration, and emerging tech dialogue. It will also provide a rare opportunity for global players to engage directly with one of Asia’s most promising markets.
“We look forward to welcoming the world’s tech leaders to Vietnam,” said Kim Ngoc Thanh Nga, Deputy Director of NIC. “GITEX VIETNAM will open new doors for investment, partnerships, and innovation at every level.”
TBI: Bridging Global Innovation to Emerging Markets
Jalil Rasheed, Managing Director of TBI Asia Pacific, emphasized the importance of the collaboration: “This partnership is a testament to our commitment to tech-led development in emerging markets like Vietnam. GITEX Vietnam is not only a boost for Vietnam’s economy but also a bridge between the UAE and Southeast Asia.”
Looking Ahead: All Eyes on Hanoi 2026
As Vietnam positions itself at the center of Southeast Asia’s tech expansion, the debut of GITEX VIETNAM is set to be a flagship moment. It will enable global innovators to connect with Vietnam’s high-growth ecosystem and help define the region’s next chapter in digital transformation.
