Europe’s most innovative start-ups are making a strong statement at Expand North Star 2024, the world’s largest start-up event.
Returning to Dubai Harbour from 13-16 October, this year’s event is set to feature an unprecedented European and British presence,
with over 400 start-ups from the region showcasing cutting-edge innovations.
European and British Start-ups Lead the Way
Expand North Star 2024, hosted by Dubai Chambers and organized by Dubai World Trade Centre,
will see its largest ever participation from Europe and the UK.
Out of the 2,000+ start-ups expected at the event, more than 400 will represent Europe and the UK,
with Germany leading the charge, followed by significant contingents from Ireland, Poland, Latvia, Austria, and Portugal.
UK’s Growing Footprint
The United Kingdom is doubling its presence with 50 start-ups this year, highlighting rapid growth in sectors like FinTech,
AI, and Sustainability. Omar Hassan, Managing Director of Global Growth Hub, emphasized the potential for UK companies
to expand into the UAE, stating, “Expand North Star provides unparalleled connectivity to local and regional markets, particularly in Asia and Africa.”
Investors and Unicorns Eye Opportunities
With European start-ups securing nearly $16 billion in funding in Q2 2024, the region’s top investors are poised to explore new opportunities at Expand North Star. Among the prominent investors attending are SpeedInvest, H Tree Capital, and M4 Ventures. The event will also feature over 65 global unicorns, including Volocopter, BitPanda, and Climeworks, ready to connect with new partners and investors.
The Global Stage at GITEX GLOBAL
Expand North Star is part of GITEX GLOBAL, the world’s largest tech event, returning for its 44th edition from 14-18 October 2024. Together, these events will create the world’s biggest tech showcase, with 6,700 companies from over 180 countries converging on Dubai.
