A Hat Trick of Success: Ericsson Named Google Cloud Business Applications Partner of the Year for Telecom

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has once again made headlines, earning the prestigious Google Cloud Business Applications Partner of the Year Award for Telecommunications for 2025. This marks the third consecutive year that Ericsson has been recognized with a Google Cloud Partner of the Year award, underscoring the strength and consistency of their strategic collaboration.

Strategic Partnership Built on Deep Technical Integration

Commenting on the achievement, Razvan Teslaru, Head of Strategy, Cloud Software and Services at Ericsson, said:

“Our long-standing partnership with Google Cloud is rooted in deep, end-to-end collaboration. Receiving this award for the third year in a row is strong validation of the real-world impact we’re making together—delivering tangible value to telecom customers and advancing the industry as a whole.”

He emphasized a year of intense progress, from validating Ericsson Packet Core on Google Cloud, to migrating a full BSS stack powering over 100 million users, and jointly exploring advanced intent-based service management capabilities.

Google Cloud Celebrates Ericsson’s Transformational Impact

Kevin Ichhpurani, President of Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud, praised the collaboration, saying:

“The Google Cloud Partner Awards recognize those who deliver outstanding value and technical expertise. We’re proud to honor Ericsson as our 2025 award winner and applaud their instrumental role in enabling customer success worldwide.”

Technical Collaboration that Delivers Results Across the Telecom Stack

Ericsson and Google Cloud’s partnership has brought substantial benefits to global communications service providers by enabling cutting-edge implementations such as:

  • Onboarding Ericsson Packet Core to Google Cloud

  • Cognitive software for radio network optimization

This partnership covers a broad array of Ericsson’s solutions portfolio, facilitating forward-looking digital transformation at scale.

Innovation as a Driving Force: From AI-Powered Services to Network API Monetization

Innovation remains a cornerstone of the partnership. Most recently, the two tech leaders have engaged in joint technical exploration of intent-based service management, showcasing how AI can redefine service delivery in telecom.

In a related effort to accelerate global network API innovation, Ericsson and leading telecom operators launched Aduna—a new venture designed to monetize telecom network capabilities. Notably, Google Cloud is a founding developer platform partner in this initiative, reinforcing their role in shaping the future of programmable networks.

Redefining Telecom Infrastructure Through a Cloud-Native Business Model

Ericsson and Google Cloud are working together to reimagine the telecom core. This includes evolving Ericsson’s core stack to operate seamlessly on Google Cloud’s autonomous, scalable, and highly reliable public infrastructure.

The shared goal is to establish a cloud-native foundation for telecom that enhances resilience, flexibility, and speed of deployment—critical factors in the ever-evolving telecom landscape.

Looking Ahead: A Shared Vision for the Future of Connectivity

As 2025 unfolds, Ericsson is set to deepen its collaboration with Google Cloud. The focus will remain on co-developing advanced telecom solutions, embracing AI-powered innovation, and unlocking new business models that meet the demands of next-generation digital ecosystems.
