Egypt is strengthening its position at the heart of Africa and the Middle East’s accelerating artificial intelligence momentum as it prepares to host AI Everything Middle East & Africa (MEA) Egypt 2026, the world’s first fully AI-focused industry summit and exhibition of the year. Scheduled for 11–12 February 2026, the event will convene international technology leaders, policymakers, investors, and startups in Cairo, placing the region’s rapidly scaling AI economies firmly in the global spotlight.

Announced just four months ago, AI Everything MEA Egypt has already mobilised the global AI ecosystem at remarkable speed, emerging as one of the most significant AI showcases ever staged in Egypt.

A Landmark Event Hosted at Egypt’s Premier Exhibition Venue

Taking place at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC), AI Everything MEA Egypt is presented by GITEX, the world’s largest technology and AI events network. The event is hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), reflecting strong public-sector commitment to advancing AI-led digital transformation.

AI Poised to Add US$1.5 Trillion to Africa’s Economy

AI Everything MEA Egypt arrives at a defining moment for the continent. Artificial intelligence is projected to contribute more than US$1.5 trillion to Africa’s GDP by 2030, according to SAP, driving accelerated government investment in cloud infrastructure, digital public services, industrial intelligence, and advanced data capabilities.

Positioned as the gateway linking Africa, the Levant, and the GCC, and as a pioneer of Arabic-first AI models, Egypt stands at the forefront of this transition. The country ranks first in Africa for Government AI Readiness and third in the Arab region for AI Resilience, according to the Oxford Insights Index, underscoring its preparedness to scale AI nationally.

Advancing Egypt’s National AI Roadmap

By convening global leaders in AI policy, investment, and deployment, AI Everything MEA Egypt 2026 is accelerating Egypt’s AI roadmap at scale. The event is designed to attract international funding, strengthen AI talent pipelines, and translate national AI strategies into measurable economic value across multiple sectors.

Aligned with Egypt’s Second National AI Strategy, the summit reinforces sovereign AI capabilities while positioning Egypt among the world’s fastest-emerging digital economies.

Global AI Leaders and Regional Champions on One Stage

More than 350 AI enterprises and startups from over 30 countries will showcase production-scale AI deployments across a wide range of sectors, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, data centres, public services, telecommunications, healthcare, smart mobility, fintech, and digital payments.

Global technology leaders such as Microsoft, Cisco, HPE, Red Hat, AWS, Capgemini, Dataiku, e&, and Fortinet will be joined by leading regional enterprises including Alkan, Cyshield, and Link DataCenter. Cairo will also host AI-first companies from the UAE and Saudi Arabia unveiling solutions tailored specifically for regional markets, including WideBot AI, EZELINK, Odoo, Ziwo, Zakaa, and Barq Systems.

Industry Leaders Highlight Egypt’s AI Readiness

Commenting on the region’s AI transition, Mohamed El Kassem, General Manager of Microsoft Egypt, said that generative AI is redefining what is possible for nations prepared to adopt it. He noted that Egypt is moving confidently toward an AI-driven future, supported by secure and responsible technologies that empower government, businesses, and young innovators.

Meanwhile, Hazem Metwally, CEO of e& Egypt, highlighted AI’s potential to reshape business operations and accelerate productivity. He emphasized that AI Everything MEA Egypt arrives at a pivotal moment, with e& Egypt proud to support the inaugural edition through integrated AI, cloud, and communications services that enable long-term, technology-led growth.

Egypt Emerges as Africa’s Most Funded Startup Hub

Egypt’s leadership in AI is reinforced by a fast-growing startup ecosystem. In the first half of 2025, Egyptian startups raised more than US$339 million, accounting for 31% of Africa’s total startup funding, positioning the country as a leading destination for AI entrepreneurship.

Participating startups include the UK’s Emotii, ranked among Europe’s top 10 AI startups; Germany’s Imensus, developers of fully autonomous seismic technologies backed by leading European space programmes; and Egypt’s Olimi AI, whose multilingual AI agents understand regional Arabic dialects, including Egyptian, Saudi, and Emirati Arabic.

Global Innovation and Cross-Border Collaboration

AI innovations from more than 30 countries will be showcased, spanning Germany, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, India, Pakistan, and China. The event’s international scope is further strengthened by participation from global organisations and councils, including UNDP, the UAE Cybersecurity Council, ESC India, and GITP Southeast Asia, reinforcing AI Everything MEA Egypt’s role as a platform for cross-border cooperation.

AI in Action Across Key Industries

From autonomous mobility to digital payments, AI Everything MEA Egypt will spotlight real-world AI applications delivering measurable business impact. Brightskies will showcase Egypt’s most advanced locally built and tested autonomous driving platform.

THAKAA will present the region’s first Arabic-language AI platform for senior executives, already deployed at the world’s largest children’s cancer hospital to enhance healthcare efficiency. Supporting industrial growth, NtegralOne Solutions will introduce high-performance AI stations enabling enterprises, startups, and researchers to run advanced AI workloads locally, reducing reliance on overseas data centres.

Sovereign AI Summit Explores the Future of Intelligent Economies

A central feature of the event, the Sovereign AI Summit, will deliver high-level discussions on how AI can drive GDP growth, digital sovereignty, skills development, and industry transformation through real-world deployment.

Speakers include Dr. Michel Rogy, Digital Development Practice Head for Africa and the Middle East at the World Bank; Zsuzsanna Hargitai, Managing Director of SME Finance & Development at the EBRD; Marc Zakher, Vice President and GM for the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa at Cerebras; and Amr Elashmawi, Global Head and VP of Strategic Markets and Partnerships at Tenstorrent.
