Dubai+, the new digital platform from Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), has officially launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC). Designed to deliver safe, family‑friendly, and high‑quality content, the launch marks a major milestone in Dubai Media’s digital transformation journey and reinforces Dubai’s position as a regional and global hub for media production and creative content.

Official Launch Attended by Media Leaders

The announcement was made during a press conference held at Dubai Media Incorporated, attended by Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office, and His Excellency Mohamed AlMulla, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Media Incorporated. The event was also attended by senior media executives, representatives of local, regional, and international media outlets, and key industry influencers.

Strengthening Dubai’s Media Ecosystem

Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri highlighted that the Dubai Media Council’s strategic role and ongoing efforts remain focused on strengthening Dubai’s media ecosystem and enhancing the competitiveness of the sector.

She noted that Dubai+ reflects Dubai’s ambitious vision to keep pace with global developments in media and digital broadcasting, while further positioning the emirate as a leading regional and international centre for creativity and media production. These efforts include encouraging increased private‑sector participation, accelerating content development, and building advanced storytelling capabilities aligned with Dubai’s long‑term vision.

Driving Innovation and Talent Development

Al Marri explained that the Council’s strategy also prioritises improving operational performance, driving innovation, expanding audience reach and impact, investing in media talent and skills development, and leveraging advanced technologies and production capabilities to support the sector’s sustainable growth.

She added that the launch of Dubai+ represents an extension of a long‑standing approach spanning more than five decades, through which Dubai has built a leading media ecosystem that not only adopts new technologies but actively leads digital innovation through a forward‑looking government vision.

An Integrated Digital Media Platform

His Excellency Mohamed AlMulla stated that the launch of Dubai+ embodies Dubai Media’s strategy to build a fully integrated digital media ecosystem that complements traditional and digital media channels while enhancing the organisation’s global competitiveness.

He explained that the platform delivers high‑quality, diverse, and innovative content, marking the beginning of a new phase of growth that will see continuous expansion of content offerings and deeper audience engagement. These future phases aim to establish Dubai+ as a comprehensive digital destination for Arab audiences.

Advanced Digital Infrastructure

AlMulla noted that Dubai+ is the result of an intensive technical and creative development process. DMI’s teams built a robust digital infrastructure and conducted extensive testing to ensure high performance and a seamless user experience comparable to leading global platforms.

He added that the platform is fully equipped to support a dynamic slate of entertainment and sports programming, ensuring scalability and readiness to meet growing audience demand.

Extensive Library of Premieres and Exclusives

Salem Balyouha, Chief Executive Officer of Media Content at Dubai Media Incorporated, said the launch of Dubai+ marks a new phase in the evolution of Dubai Media’s digital operating model and represents a significant addition to the region’s digital broadcasting and video‑on‑demand landscape.

He emphasised that family safety is central to the Dubai+ viewing experience, reflected not only in the nature of the content offered, but also through clear selection criteria, robust classification systems, and transparent viewing controls that enable audiences to make informed choices with confidence.

Rich and Diverse Content Offering

Balyouha explained that Dubai+ brings together a comprehensive portfolio of first‑run and exclusive film and series releases, original productions, live television channels, major sporting competitions, and key events hosted in Dubai.

At launch, the platform features more than 20 exclusive series, six original productions, over 170 international titles, and a dedicated sports library covering 12 live championships, offering audiences a broad and engaging entertainment experience.

Elevating Emirati and Arab Content

Dubai+ aims to redefine digital content consumption in Dubai and the wider Middle East by strengthening the presence of Emirati and Arab productions and presenting them to the highest international production standards.

The platform reflects a strong commitment to innovation, continuous evolution, and cultural relevance, while enhancing the visibility of regional content across diverse markets.

In addition to its content offering, Dubai+ provides an empowering digital environment for nurturing media talent and creative professionals across the region.
